The iPhone lovers would be very happy these days as the latest iPhone has hit the shelves. This is the fourth year in a row that there have been announced two iPhones. And it is the third time there have been two sizes, one (iPhone 7) with a 4.7-inch screen, the other (iPhone 7 Plus) with a 5.5-inch display. Let’s take a closer look at some of the amazing features of these iPhones.
A new iPhone means a new processor. Apple says their latest A10 processorhas greater speed and better efficiency and do more work with less energy. In reality, the experience of the iPhone 7 is that it’s franticly fast and absolutely responsive. The company has given a fair amount of detail about how there are four cores, two high-performance and two high-efficiency, which bat tasks between them as needed.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus looks almost same in appearance to their ancestors, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The smaller iPhone 7 has a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, whereas its larger sibling has a 5.5-inch display. The aluminium body iPhones comes in five colours –black, gold, silver, rose gold, and “jet black”.The latest jet black finish will be offered exclusively on the 128GB and 256GB models.
This is a main enhancement which every smartphone user will appreciate. Though Apple doesn’t declare the battery size, apple says it will last two hours longer than the iPhone 6s. The bigger iPhone adds an extra hour of usage a day, however its battery was already longer-lasting.
The camera of latest iPhone 7 is of 12 megapixels and Apple claims it to be 60% faster and 30% more energy-efficient than previous models, and has 4 LEDS in the flash. On the iPhone 7 there’s now optical image stabilisation – a feature previously restricted to the bigger Plus models – which also helps in darker locations.
Reformed home button
Apple’s iPhone 7 comes with a redesigned Home button – apparently in order to make the device waterproof. The new “solid-state” Home button is designed to be responsive and durable. The button doesnot “click” in the same way as it did on the older handsets, it provides haptic feedback when you touch it.
Basically there is no upsurge in the resolution of the display on the iPhone 7 which has the similar pixels-per-inch as before, 326ppi – the iPhone 7 Plus stays at its previous resolution, too, 401ppi. But now the Retina HD screen is brighter than before and has a wide colour gamut for vivid, realistic colours.
No more headphone socket
The hottest topic of debate these days is that the new iPhone doesn’t have a headphone socket. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus comes with a pair of wired headphones that plug into the charging port on the bottom of the device.
Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are totally protected against dust and can be immersed in water to a depth of 1 metre. It will survive even if you dipit in the sink or down the loo, and it won’t break if you drizzle a drink upon it, but you probably don’t want to take it swimming.
